Background to the ESRS E1 standard

The objective of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) is to define the sustainability information that companies must report in accordance with the CSRD. The topic-specific standards are led by the ESRS E1 Climate Change. Climate change is expected to be one of the material reporting topics for almost every company, as nearly every economic activity involves greenhouse gas emissions. GHG emissions, divided into Scopes 1, 2, and 3, form the core of the ESRS E1 report. Further KPIs, measures, targets, and strategies are based on the CO2 figures. These KPIs must be prepared for CSRD reporting and reflected in the management report in accordance with the ESRS E1 reporting requirements.

Content of the online seminar

THEORY MODULE

Based on the final German version of ESRS E1, we will discuss the significance of the individual disclosure requirements for companies in their first reporting year. We will analyze whether these requirements and data points must be reported in the first year, and if so, in what form. Furthermore, we will establish the specific relationships to the exemptions and transitional periods of the general requirements (ESRS 1), which can be used to justify numerous simplifications in the first reporting year.

PRACTICAL MODULE

We'll discuss a clear, detailed initial report for a retail company with 1,000 employees. The practical sample report, which you'll also receive for guidance afterward, focuses on a streamlined implementation with the mandatory disclosures for the first reporting year. It also includes an explanation of those areas and data points that, due to various exceptions (including a presentation of references), do not need to be reported, or do not need to be reported in full, in the first year.

SUPPORTING MATERIAL: Illustrative ESRS E1 sample report, presentation slides and training certificate

The presentation slides provide you with a clear overview of your company. This allows you to provide a clear overview of the topics to colleagues and management, if needed.

As a participant, you will receive a training certificate from Green Vision Solutions. This certificate will demonstrate your acquired knowledge and demonstrate your expertise as a current subject matter expert, for example, within your company or to your customers.

ADDED VALUE

WHY PARTICIPATE?

reduce time spent on the report

Our seminar will save you many hours of preparation time spent laboriously reading and analyzing the standard.

At our seminar, you'll receive a clear overview of the German standard and a detailed explanation of the specific requirements for the first reporting year of non-energy-intensive companies. This will save you many hours of preparation that you would otherwise spend reading and analyzing the standard.

THEORY MODULE: Creating Clarity & Relevance

We have summarized the final requirements and transitional provisions of ESRS E1 for you.

With all the changes to the ESRS, it's difficult to keep track. How precisely and to what extent must reporting be done? We've created a clear summary of the ESRS E1 requirements for you.

PRACTICAL MODULE: Initial report template received

Based on our analysis, we present you with a clear initial report for a trading company with 1,000 employees.

This report focuses on the required information for the first reporting year. It also provides the rationale for the areas and data points that do not need to be reported, or only partially reported, in the first year due to various exemptions (including references).
