TOPIC: Definition of terms, delimitation of requirements and current status of the new CO2-related EU regulations
New EU directives and regulations will require companies to report on sustainability from 2024. The collection and reporting of CO2 emissions is always one of the first steps. In the online seminar, we will examine the relevant requirements of the Taxonomy Regulation, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Sustainability Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), among others. An example of the classification of business activities in the EU taxonomy will be visualized step by step. We also highlight the respective consequences of non-compliance with reporting obligations.

ADDED VALUE
WHY PARTICIPATE?

Insight into how and from when checks are carried out
So far, there is little concrete information on how the audit of the new sustainability reporting will proceed and what the consequences of non-compliance will be. That's why we have experts at the seminar who will discuss the current status of the audit.
We report on how the new legal obligations are handled from the perspective of the auditor.
We also provide insights from our direct contact with our savings bank network partners on how banks check their customers' ESG data and evaluate it for lending purposes.
On the subject | In the "FALK TALK" podcast, we talk to FALK GmbH und Ko KG about CSRD from an auditing perspective:

Create clarity & timeliness
With all the new EU directives and regulations, it is difficult to keep track of everything. In what form, to what extent, by whom and from when must CO2 key figures be reported? What's new in 2024?
We examine the current status of CSRD, the Taxonomy Regulation and EU guidelines on lending, among other things:
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) obliges companies to report CO2 figures in the management report in accordance with binding European reporting standards (ESRS/ ESRS E1 Climate Change). In June, the latest amendments to the ESRS were published, which affect the preparation phase in the company.
The EU Taxonomy Regulation is intended to channel capital flows into environmentally sustainable economic activities. To this end, the taxonomy-relevant activities of companies must be examined and the respective taxonomy ratios are disclosed. An example of this classification is shown in the seminar.
Due to new European guidelines on lending, banks are already integrating the query of CO2 key figures in the ESG score into their lending processes now or by 2024 at the latest.
