To record the carbon footprint, the life cycle of the MUEG concrete block was considered in a comprehensive process over the entire production phase (cradle to gate approach).

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The MUEG concrete block in standard format 1600 x 800 x 800 mm. It is a quality-assured system module consisting of 100 % recycled aggregate, cement from regional production and water.
ACCOUNTING LIMITS
The emissions were from raw material extraction to leaving the plant in accordance with the cradle-to-gate accounting approach. All greenhouse gas emissions along the life cycle were recorded and calculated in accordance with the Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
FUNCTIONAL UNIT
The unit of comparison for the quantified benefit of the product system was a Concrete block with 2,160 kg is considered. This is used as a representative reference value.
