Your corporate carbon footprint

Our proven process in four easy steps

1. Arrange an information meeting

Get to know our proven TÜV-certified process.

We provide you with an overview of the project workflow and the data entry software. Thanks to various packages, we have the right solution for every budget.

2. Personal onboarding

At the project kick-off (online), all colleagues involved will receive an introduction from their project mentor from our team of experts.

Depending on your needs, we will discuss individually in the subsequent data preparation meeting which emission sources belong to your Scope 1 and 2 and which areas in Scope 3 are relevant for your company. You will receive assistance with data collection and an individual introduction to our intuitive data query software.

In addition, the check-up meeting during the course of the project allows open questions to be clarified together, so that you can communicate confidently with your team and business partners.

3. Secure calculation

What makes our process unique is that our specialists fill data gaps.

We are always at your side and ensure the accuracy of your data – regardless of whether you can provide exact supplier data, quantity specifications, costs, or just auxiliary values for statistical projections.

We then calculate your corporate carbon footprint using individual emission factors.

4. Results & final discussion

In an individual final meeting, your project mentor will guide you through your results. These will consist of:

Climate report (in accordance with ESRS E1-6) including recognized certificate and seal: Your CO2 figures and calculation methods are clearly stated

Dashboard: The complete collected data and individual KPIs are available online and interactively, usable for detailed data analyses

The average project duration is eight weeks. This includes your input phase into our data query software (time as requested) and two weeks for our subsequent calculations.

Manage your data in our

intuitive data query software

During onboarding with your project mentor you will receive a personal introduction to our data query software, the GreenHub. This operates as a web application and is therefore accessible to you anytime, anywhere – without installation and always up-to-date.

Our process allows you to enter data in variable granularity, depending on the raw data you have available. Whether you have precise supplier data, quantity specifications, costs, or just approximate values for statistical projections, we offer a TÜV-certified service that closes data gaps and ensures reliable CO₂ reporting.

In the Dashboard, you will find your CO₂ figures, reports, and certificates. Track the development of your emissions, analyze areas and potential, and monitor your CO₂ values by item and scope.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the results of the Corporate Carbon Footprint?

You will receive your calculated CO2 figures firstly as an individual dashboard with KPIs and diagrams for the development of measures, secondly as a certificate for official verification and thirdly as a detailed climate report in text and table form according to ESRS E1-6.

Which personal online meetings are included in the project?

The project includes several personal online meetings. The kick-off meeting begins with a meeting where everyone involved gets to know each other and receives an overview of the project workflow. If needed, a data preparation meeting is arranged, where we will individually clarify which data is relevant in Scope 1, 2, and 3, support you in data collection, and introduce you to our intuitive data query software. Additionally, you can schedule a check-up meeting to clarify any open questions and communicate confidently with your team and business partners.

In follow-up projects, you also have the option of booking the project scope without consulting meetings if you already feel well prepared in terms of content and would like to carry out the data collection independently.

When can we expect the results of our corporate carbon footprint?

We typically provide you with the results of your Corporate Carbon Footprint within two to four weeks of entering your raw data. During this time, we will conduct your standard-compliant emissions calculation and close any data gaps to fully comply with GHG and CSRD requirements.

In the kick-off meeting, you and your project mentor will set the deadline for data entry and the date for submitting your results. The exact date for submitting your results depends on the timely delivery of your raw data by the deadline agreed upon in the kick-off meeting.

Typically, four to six weeks are sufficient for data entry. However, especially in the first year, it's advisable to allow a little more time for data entry and allow for a sufficient buffer, as delayed data entry may also delay the delivery of results depending on our project capacity.

Do we have the data needed for the project?

Experience has shown that almost all of the required data is already available in your accounting department. In up to four personal online meetings and explanatory materials we will guide you through the required data and show you how to pragmatically close any remaining gaps.

Can we map available emission data from our business partners?

Yes, existing emissions data from business partners, suppliers or purchased products can be uploaded directly and taken into account.

Are all CO₂-equivalent GHGs taken into account according to the Kyoto Protocol?

Yes, when calculating your greenhouse gas footprint, we always consider all relevant and required greenhouse gases (GHGs) under the Kyoto Protocol to meet the requirements of the CSRD and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The sum of these gases, each with a different global warming potential (GWP), is expressed as CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e). Since CO₂ is commonly used, we use this term for communication on our website, for example, in our CO₂ reporting. Your certificate and official documents always show all relevant greenhouse gases in CO₂e.

What does CSRD-compliant result mean?

We calculate your CO2Key figures for Scope 1, 2, and 3 according to the corporate standards of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG). We use high-quality input data for the calculation: exact emission factors and actual values from your energy providers and suppliers.

The GHG calculation basis is also required for CSRD reporting of greenhouse gas emissions according to ESRS E1-6 (see ESRS E1-6 AR 39). We have our calculation method certified for compliance with the GHG standard through annual audits by TÜV Rheinland.

You will receive the results of your CCF, i.e., your greenhouse gas calculation across Scopes 1 to 3, as a report in text and table format. This report contains the required disclosures of E1-6. This includes gross GHG emissions in the Scopes 1, 2, and 3 categories, as well as total GHG emissions, the location- and market-specific breakdown, and the greenhouse gas intensity based on net revenues. Furthermore, the methodology used is explained in accordance with the requirements.

Some data, such as those for rental properties, are unavailable to us. Can we still calculate the CCF?

Yes, our process provides projections and statistical values for such cases that provide a meaningful picture. So, it's not a problem if some data is incomplete.

ACTING NOW IS WORTH IT

When it comes to sustainability or ecological viability, climate change and human influence on it are central, as in hardly any other area can environmental impacts be measured and documented so well with figures. The indicator here is anthropogenic emissions, i.e., greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans that contribute to global warming.

What does this mean in the context of sustainable business? Every company should keep its greenhouse gas emissions – which are unavoidable in the provision of business services – as low as possible. Sustainable business cannot be achieved at the push of a button, but a continuous optimization process based on ecological indicators is the crucial approach.

By recording the greenhouse gas emissions generated by your company, product, or service, you can identify potential for emission reduction. This enables you to optimize your processes and also save costs. You communicate to your customers and suppliers that you take responsibility for the emissions for which you are responsible. This allows you to build trust and adapt to the requirements of your business partners.

Acting now is worthwhile

Knowing your emissions will prepare you for predictable, more stringent regulatory requirements, such as increasing greenhouse gas emissions taxes or the mandatory implementation of investment-intensive measures. Incorporating this component into your corporate risk management is essential in the long term.

Due to the ongoing societal demand for climate protection, even the European Central Bank, under Christine Lagarde, has now embarked on the inevitable course of preferentially allocating capital to companies that demonstrably address climate protection. The same trend is evident in the capital flow of large asset managers, such as BlackRock. In a letter to his CEOs, its chairman, Larry Fink, wrote that companies that do not address environmental issues seriously and transparently are no longer viable and will therefore no longer be invested in.

Therefore, pursuing climate protection professionally and verifiably as a company is inevitable in the near future. If your company is among the first to address this situation, you will establish a pioneering effect that prepares you for compliance with foreseeable legal requirements, results in lower capital costs in the long term, and guarantees market advantages!
